Next time you’re thinking about renting a movie or buying a new DVD, consider swapping your DVDs instead.

That’s what a group of eco-minded movie lovers did this Saturday when they participated in Swapsity’s Movie Swap Meet. Visitors unloaded DVDs they had already watched and left the event with a stack of fresh films for their movie libraries.        

Film buffs swapped for DVDs from all genres, from Oscar-nominated Memoirs of a Geisha to superhero flick The Incredible Hulk to George Clooney’s Syriana.

Swappers loved the idea of trading their previously-viewed DVDs for something they hadn’t seen and left knowing they had done their part for the environment, cleared out unwanted clutter and got something new—all on barter!
