Canadian-French is my native tongue. I am self-taught and have been using these skills at my place of employment for the past 4 years. We do business everyday with our Quebec clients and I am their main contact due to the combination of my translating abilities and my customer services skills. I do not use translating websites like Babel Fish, I do my own translations based on my knowledge and experience as this is the only proper way to ensure the nuances of the target and source language alike come through in the final product. I use a thesaurus and a dictionary as needed.
