Contest Rules:

Contest is open May 6th - August 15st

Participants of the contest must adhere to the rules outlined below. The act of entering the contest constitutes acceptance of the contest rules.

Summary:

Got something to swap? Love making videos? Why not put the two together for a chance to win a $100 voucher of your choice! Grab a friend and film yourselves taking a swappable item or skill door-to-door in your neighbourhood, dorm or workplace. Find something to trade, from an iPod or an unused Christmas present to DVDs or dance lessons, and start negotiating! Keep in mind, you don't actually have to swap the item. Share your videos with Swapsity by emailing us at contest@swapsity.ca. and the most unique entry will be crowned the winner.

As part of your entry, please submit your name, email address, Swapsity username and phone number (optional but recommended). We will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent. Email all entries to contest@swapsity.ca by August 15th, 2011. Eligibility:

• The contest is open to all registered Swapsity members living in Canada who are at least 18 years of age.
• Swapsity employees, volunteers and contest sponsors are not eligible to participate.

Entries

• Please send us only your original content. Videos must not include commercial copyrighted music or images. Contestants are responsible for ensuring that soundtracks and images are not copyrighted material. The contestants are also responsible for securing permission of each participant depicted in the video.
• You may submit more than one video, but each video requires a separate submission.
• Please include your full name, Swapsity username and a YouTube or Vimeo link to your video. You may also email the video to us.
• All submissions must be emailed to contest@swapsity.ca. We will provide you with an email confirmation upon receipt of your entry.
• The contest submission deadline is August 15th, 2011, 11:59pm EST.
• The video should be under 5 minutes long.
• Swapsity reserve the rights to publish selected entries online.
• By submitting your entry, you hereby represent and warrant that the entry does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party. You also warrant that your submission is an original entry, it is not plagiarized, and it does not purposefully contain any misleading information.
• By entering the contest, you agree to grant Swapsity, the rights to publish your entry (on the site or off the site), without any compensation, and use it for any purposes including but not limited to promotional or advertising purposes. As a courtesy, we will attempt to inform you prior to using your entry.
• A minimum of three eligible entries must be received by the end of the contest for the prize to be awarded.

Prizes

• The winner will receive $100 gift voucher of their choice (Tim Hortons, Chapters, Canadian Tire, Future Shop etc)
• All prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and are not convertible to cash.
• If the prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, Swapsity may substitute a prize of like or equal value.
• Prize winner will be notified in September 2011. Winner will be provided with details about redeeming their prize.
• The winner will be notified by email. If we are unable to reach the winner after 2 email attempts or 2 phone calls (if phone number is provided), the prize may be forfeited at the sole discretion of Swapsity and another winner may be selected by Swapsity.
• Claiming of prizes requires an email response to contest@swapsity.ca from the winning sender email address within 30 days of being notified of winning at the email address used to enter. Failure to respond shall mean that the winner forfeits the prize and will have no further claim to the prize. Swapsity may award the unclaimed prize to other selected winners.
• In accepting the prize, the winner, and any guest(s), acknowledges that Swapsity may not be held liable for any loss or misfortune, accidents, death, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize(s).
• Prior to receiving the prize, the winner may be required sign a standard form releasing Swapsity of all liability, confirming compliance with the contest rules and consenting to the use of his or her entry by Swapsity.

Judging Criteria

• Submission will be judged by Swapsity Crew based on originality, uniqueness and presentation of your entry.
• Swapsity will select one best entry from the pool of submissions. The decision about the winning entry made by Swapsity will be final.

Other

• Swapsity reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice if any unforeseen circumstances arise.
• Swapsity may, in its sole discretion, prohibit any person from entering any contest whom we believe to be abusing the rules. Such abuse includes but is not limited to entering false information and misrepresenting one's identity.
• We reserve the right to amend contest rules or change contest rules at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be clearly posted on this page.
